Die Walskipper is an iconic landmark, situated on the edge of the ocean, in the little coastal town of Jeffreys Bay.

We’ve been serving delicious food since 1997, making us one of the oldest established restaurants in the area.

Most of our food is prepared on open fires, to give an authentic home cooked South African flavour to our dishes. We offer a mouth-watering array of seafood and other traditional South African dishes.

Best prawns ever Perfect setting, quite unique and magnificent food. Best prawns I had all trip in SA in 5wks. Superb service from Thando, such a lovely young man, great sense of humour as well. Thank u Thando, you made our day along with the exceptional food. Highly recommended.

Large and great meals I went there on winter. Tables are rustic and the seats are unstable because they are in the sand. However, the meals are excellent and are large. Maybe, in terms of food, the best restaurant inn the area of JB.

Best views and normally great Went to “Die Walskipper” for Mothersday lunch. Although I love the restaurant, today I was not happy. I ordered the “Lamb Shank Bredie” with yellow rice and “pap” The meat comes in a small bowl on a plate. More than enough yellow rice. “Pap” also enough. These are not the food I was unhappy about. I started removing the potatoes from the bowl. Half a bowl left! Then removed the bones. Even less in the bowl left. Most of that was sauce. Which I used with that “pap” and was nice. Maybe 2 or 3 small pieces of meat. For R255.00! I did mention my unhappiness to the waiter and the manager. They sent me some additional meat. For R255, the value for money was 2/10 and not worth it. Also a bit concerning to see the price increase. Had to go and look on the menu on Facebook and saw there the previous price (R155). Almost 60% increase from the price in Jul 2021. Will I go back? Yes, definitely and will recommend the restaurant. Food: 3/10 Waiter: 9/10 Location: 10/10 Value: 2/10 Menu: 8/10 Overall: 6/10 Beer: Perfect

Best seafood in the Easter Cape What an absolute pleasant surprise! The waitress was attentive, her suggestions were spot on and the meal was simply out of this world! We had the Asian oysters, seafood platter for 2, butter chicken, Lemmon meringue, tiramisu and ice-cream and chocolate sauce. The best seafood we have ever had! And the pina colada’s were great too!

Great food and excellent service with the perfect views Took my parents and partner for pre-dinner drinks and appetizers. It was hot and windy. We moved from outside to an inside table by the server that gave us protection from the wind. We ordered cocktails and wine as well as recommended appetizers! It was the perfect combination. The two appetizers were almost big enough to serve as dinner for the 4 of us. A pricey spot, but worth our excursion! Definitely recommended and we will be back!

Delicious seaside restaurant Renier, our Waiter was brilliant, he recommended a seafood combo which was beautifully presented. Braai combo was superb. Keep up the excellent service and delicious meals. We will be back to one of our favourite restaurants in the J Bay region. Thank you.
